Teacher's Notes

Whether you are in the computer lab or the classroom, you will need to do the introduction with your students.

There are just a few preparations needed for you and your students to do this Bear WebQuest. You will need to prepare the following ahead of time:

  1. One folder for the all the students to keep their work in.

  2. One full piece of construction paper [pre-folded in half ] per student.  This will be for the cover of their bear books.

  3. Four - half pieces of construction paper per student.  This will be the paper that the students mount their bear pictures on.

  4. Four plain pieces of paper 1" smaller than the above paper per student.   The students will be drawing their bear on this paper.

  5. Four pieces of paper for the students to write a sentence or two about each bear per student.

  6. Crayons, glue and pencils.

  7. One bear puzzle worksheet per student. (*Note, you will have to draw your own lines to make the puzzle pieces) They will color, cut out the pieces and glue them onto the front of their book, and write their names on it.

When this project is complete, the students will put their books together and staple the edge to complete their bear book.  **Be sure to show the students how to hit the 'back' button after visiting a site other than the WebQuest.  If your school is running via a proxy server, it is a good idea to go to ALL of the sites [links] before the student session begins.  This will help cut down on picture download time.
