    Many bears live on earth. We will look at the brown bearbearpaw.gif (367 bytes), grizzly beargrizzlybear.gif (1439 bytes) black bearblackbear.gif (802 bytes) and polar bearpolarbear.gif (979 bytes).  These bears all look differently.  You will make a book about bears. When you see bearpaw.gif (367 bytes) click on it.  You will see a picture.  When you see a wavplay.gif (11810 bytes) click on it.  You will hear sound.

    Here are ten facts about bears:

  1. Bears are large animals.
  2. They have very strong legs.bearpaw.gif (367 bytes)
  3. Bears have big heads and small eyes.bearpaw.gif (367 bytes)
  4. Bears live in all parts of the world except for Antarctica, Africa and Australia.
  5. Most bears eat nuts, fruits, berries, plants, insects, honey, fish and other animals. bearpaw.gif (367 bytes)
  6. Bears eat a lot of food to get ready for winter.  We would have to eat 50 hamburgers and 12 large orders of fries for many days to get as big as these bears.
  7. Baby bears are called cubs. 
  8. When cubs are born, they are about the size of a squirrel. bearpaw.gif (367 bytes)
  9. Bears make or find dens in the winter. bearpaw.gif (367 bytes)
  10. They go to sleep in the den.  They sleep all winter.  This is called hibernation.

    crayon.gif (1052 bytes)It is time to work on your bear puzzle. Color the pieces of the puzzle. Cut out the pieces.  Glue them on the brown paper. This is your cover for your book.  Write your name on the front.
