Task

"Oh, no!" you think to yourself after hearing your principal telling you about Teacher Standard 10.  "I am going to be evaluated on all those standards?  How on earth can I meet those standards AND teach too?"
After getting over your anxiety attack and you have started breathing again, you take a look at the standards and decide that probably the best way to meet the standards is by taking them one or two at a time.  Soon after reading over them you see that standards 10.9, 10.13 and 10.14 have a lot in common and that you could do one web-based lesson and meet the requirements of those criterion.
Now that you have decided what standards you are going to meet, you ask yourself where do I begin?
The best way to begin is to figure out where to begin, is by answering the following questions:
  1. What subject area do I want to cover?
  2. What do the students know?
  3. What do I want the students to learn at the end of this activity?

Type (or write) your student questions out using a word processing program such as Microsoft Word.  This will be the students' worksheet or the basis of your web-based activities.

Now that you have a subject chosen and know what you want the students to learn, it is now time to chose what kind of web-based activity you want your students to participate in.  There are many, many different kinds of web-based activities.  In this webquest we are going to talk about three basic ones.  Click on the resources link at the bottom of the page to continue.
