Site Based Council Meeting
April 12, 2005
Members present:
David Ewen, Janie Griggs, Andrea Guise, Leslie LeBlanc and Ty Sturdivant.
Also in attendance was Principal, Ed McCaw.
The meeting was called to
order at 5:40 PM. Mr. McCaw
expressed his condolences to Janie Griggs in the loss of her mother.
1.
Agenda Item 1 – Review of Agenda
Mr. McCaw discussed with the
council his role in the selection in the new principal.
He asked for feedback from the council as to their desire as to
contacting the superintendent, offering his recommendation, etc.
He has contacted Mr. Mattox for input, who relayed to him he should not
voice his opinions, and not influence the council.
He then turned the meeting over to David Ewen, and then excused himself.
2.
Agenda Item 2 – Principal Profile Development
Andrea offered to share her
list of attributes and goals. A
discussion ensued regarding goals listed by the parents.
Ty suggested paying merit to the items with higher figures from the
parent and staff poll.
Leslie suggested that the
council meet on a weekly basis to allow the council to stay on track time wise,
and to keep the momentum.
Mr. Ewen asked the council
members to renumber the sample questions, then using the question’s numbers,
assigned one question for each attribute. Upon
completion, the council members will e-mail the other council members with their
thoughts.
The council agreed to meet
next Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at 5:30 PM to create the list of questions.
The meeting was adjourned at
7:40 PM.
