Stonewall Elementary
Principal Profile Meeting
March 10, 2005

Members present:  David Ewen, Janie Griggs, Andrea Guise, Leslie LeBlanc and Ty Sturdivant.  Also present was Lisa Stone, elementary director.

The meeting was called to order at 6:35 PM, and Mr. McCaw introduced Vince Mattox, who was appointed to facilitate the meeting.  Mr. Mattox explained to the parents that the same process was presented to the Stonewall staff.

Mr. Mattox explained the legal implications and relayed to the parents that any time “shall” has been used in the wording, is to be read as “must.”  He explained that the interview questions for the committee will come from the profile created.  The best candidates that fit the profile will be referred to the council.  He recommended to the parents that the council keep the interviews closed.  Then after coming out of closed sessions, they can announce their decision.  Then the Human Resources director notifies the chosen candidate.  He suggested setting a date for the principal selection, but to be flexible.

When questioned about an interim, Mr. Mattox notified the parents that one could finish the year if needed.  He must also meet the profile qualifications.  The outgoing principal will not train the incoming principal.
