MOVING A STUDENT TO ANOTHER GRADE LEVEL AFTER THE BEGINNING OF THE SCHOOL YEAR
For a student to be sent to a different grade level after the school year
has begun, the following guidelines will be used:
A committee consisting of the
principal, the current teacher, the receiving teacher,
the previous year’s teacher, (possibly the guidance counselor) and the
parent(s) will assess which educational setting will best meet the needs of the
child.
The committee will consider the following:
A. Current performance as demonstrated by samples of recent work.
B.
Any adaptive instruction which has been implemented.
C.
Other support services such as ESS, peer tutoring, tutoring by an
instructional assistant, modified assignments, the use of behavioral/academic
charts.
D.
Formal test scores (i.e. Brigance, CTBS, Gates-McGinitie, STAR, MST,
etc.)
E.
Informal test results(i.e. IRI, anecdotal records, etc.)
