                  Writing Portfolio Development

Julie Pearman reported on her professional development training at the Intermediate Writing Academy .  She shared “mini writing lessons” that

4^th grade teachers will incorporate into their Writing Portfolio/Language

Arts lessons.

Lynda Davis and Mary Jane Kinman will be attending professional development training on Sat., Feb. 19^th---“Letter to the Reviewer and On-Demand Writing”.  Information, etc. to be shared at next meeting.

Reminder:  “Don’t focus on fixing the paper, but improving the writer.”

                        Open-Response Questions

                        Teachers agreed to focus on ORQ in all curriculum areas. 

                        On-Demand Writing

Teachers will continue to share writing prompts.  Julie Pearman shared high interest prompts from her recent training.

3. Action taken on each item:

Teachers will meet at least twice each week to address writing needs/progress.

(4^th grade meetings every Day 4, meetings called during planning period,

lunch, etc.)

Teachers will share ideas, resources, writing pieces. ORQ’s and Open

Response questions.
