  1. Agenda:
    1. Phone Book Recycling
    2. PTA – Questionnaires
    3. Computer Upgrades
    4. Computer / Technician Approval
  1. Discussion:
    1. Doug Germann will check with Ed on recycling phonebooks and advertising. It was suggested that we make a flyer and post information on our website for advertising purposes. Proceeds from the phonebook collection will be put in a fund to purchase computers for Stonewall.  It was also mentioned to have a competition between classrooms.  Prizes would include a pizza party for the primary winner and the intermediate winner.
    2. PTA would like to see how technology is being used in the classrooms along with core content. A questionnaire was sent out to a teacher at each grade level as well as to all special area and special education teachers.  Some questionnaires were returned.  When questionnaires are returned, Amy will compact the data for PTA.
    3. New hard drives and more memory have arrived.  20 Level 3 computers are needed. The technician position is needed for next school year.  KETS funding will be used.
  1. Action taken:
    1. Doug will get information for the phonebooks and proceed.
    2. Questionnaires will be gathered, processed and given to the PTA.
    3. Janie is currently installing and upgrading the older computers.
    4. Committee approved of 20 new computers and technician position to be funded with KETS money.

If the Committee controls finances:

Previous KETS Balance: $14,654.70

Expenditures: $14,654.70 (computers + technician position)

Current Balance:

(Note to Council:  I received an offer from our new tech guru for FCPS that if we could fund the technician position with our available KETS funds, then they would supply us with 20 top of the line computers – better than what we would normally purchase.  I put it to the tech committee and they enthusiastically agreed.  This is a one-year deal, but it gives us twenty great computers and it keeps our technician funded.  I thought it was a great deal.)
