TECHNOLOGY
COMMITTEE Subjects
Addressed: q
The
last technology meeting notes were reviewed and discussed. q
25
VCRs ($70 each from Best Buys with the correct input/output switch) are
needed in order to connect the teachers’ computers up to the TVs. q
Smart
Board is waiting for a part to come in to be fixed.
q
Goals
for 2001-2001 o
All
teachers’ computers connected to TVs o
More
computers in the classrooms q
It
was agreed upon that there should be a request submitted to the SBDM
council that Amy be hired for the extended time (one week before and one
week after school or at least one week before school) so that the
computers can be up, running and ready for testing at the beginning of
the school year. The list
of projects that need to be tended to are as follows: o
New
server to replace Novell
--- Sam is working on this now. He
hopes to have it in place by the end of March.
He plans to teach Amy and I the “ins and outs” when he puts
in place. o
Inventory
--- All CPU’s, monitors and printer in the building will be counted
and recorded. I hope to
begin work on this project this week.
Stacey needs this part done ASAP so she can enter it in her
system as she closes out for the year.
I am sure Amy and I will need to help her out with entering all
this information. o
Computer
cleaning---
All the computers need to be cleaned and wiped off.
This is for both labs and computers in the classrooms.
All computers will need to be covered after this.
Also, the tables need to be moved out for vacuuming. o
Upgrades
---
Hopefully if any programs such as S2000 or testing programs need to be
upgraded it can be done at the end of school rather or many days before
rather than the day before school starts.
o
Averkeys
---
We need to have all of these hooked up and working.
This can only be done if we have new VCR’s for some of the
TV’s. o
SRI
and Star Math
--- Make sure this all runs smoothly before school starts. o
Lab
wires---
All the wires need to be straightened and put in wire holders.
The children continue to tangle their feet in the wires and pull
the wires out. I would like
to run the wires along the wall, under the tables.
o
Ghosting
of Writing and Main Lab
--- All
computers need to be ghosted in both labs.
A new image for each lab also needs to be set up. o
NT
Server –old
documents etc from previous year needs to be deleted.
Folders for teachers and students need to be set up. o
Set
up Fortes in both Labs—set
up control central o
