Technology Committee Meeting
August 22, 2000

Members Present:  Janie Fields, Sue Kolka, Donna Lansden, Stacie Musgrave, Amy Ford

Subjects Addressed: 

1.       The last technology meeting notes were reviewed and discussed.

2.     Goals for this year:  Goals that were discussed but not voted on as approved:

·          Remote controls for the VCR’s in the classrooms

·          Replacing the older televisions with new ones for better pictures with the scan converters as well as anything viewed on the TV

·          Mouse Pads - Janie and Amy will see if some vendors can donate them

·          One digital camera per grade level [7 cameras]

·          The purchasing of another Smart Board either for the computer lab, or one for the teachers to check out

·          PTA wish list including purchases of miscellaneous items that KETS funding does not purchase.

3.     Michael Potter  - Technology PTA representative - creating a wish list for him which includes the above.   He was invited via email to come to the committee meetings.

4.     Janie, Amy and Stacie will plan to meet with the teachers at their grade level meetings for library -computer lab collaborations

5.     KETS funds - projected funds for the year are about $22,000 for the school year of 2000 - 2001

6.    Goals met from last year:

·          Thanks to our generous PTA, we were able to purchase scan converters for almost all of the classrooms.  A few more are needed due to extra teachers hired for the present school year.

·          All teachers now have a Pentium computer up and running in their rooms.

·          Some collaboration between the library, computer lab and classrooms were a successful unit.
