Social Committee Meeting
Sept. 2, 2003

The balance in the social committee account was discussed, and this year’s dues were reduced from $25 to $20 per staff member for this year only.

Lynn Stewart will order flowers on Wednesday to be delivered to Ferral Black’s home in memory of his mother.

The spring retirement dinner was discussed in order to get the Faculty Club reserved.  The date is tentatively set for May 6^th at 6:30.

Expenses for September include adoption gifts for the children of Mr.  Hausley and Ms. Fox totaling 3 gifts($75).

Marla Fox will post a chart for monthly treats by grade levels.  Leslie will keep track of the dues as they are paid.

Bldg. Caretaker week is the first week of Oct.  The marquee will display a message honoring our custodians.  Our students will be asked to “shower” them with cards during the week of Oct. 6-10.  (Mr. Black loves Snickers and Mr. Hausley loves fruit). A lunch will be ordered for them during that week.

The committee’s current balance is $1470.  It will be reduced to $1350 during the month due to expenses incurred in Aug. and Sept.

Lynn will purchase flowers this year, Karen and Sue will purchase gift certificates, and Marla will send cards for designated occasions.

At our next meeting, the committee guidelines will be reviewed for revision, and the holiday party will be planned.  Cupid capers will be discussed.
