December Social Committee Minutes 

12/4/01

1.        The meeting started at 2:50 and dismissed at 4:30.

2.        The committee discussed the effect of the IRS ruling as it pertains to gifts given to faculty and staff members.  The ruling makes any gift given for Christmas or other special occasion subject to tax.  The committee decided to proceed with the current plan until further discussion occurs.

3.        Details for final details for the Holiday Get-Together were discussed.  Specific assignments were given to members.

4.        Consolidated Plan-The Social Committee is responsible for completing the Mathematics Action Component of the School Wide Consolidated Plan.  Committee reviewed plan from previous year and discussed any contributing factors, objectives, and strategies that should be carried over into the new plan.  Committee discussed some possible new priority needs, causes/contributing factors, goals, objectives, and strategies for the 2002-2004 Mathematics Action Component.  Members of the committee will meet on Wednesday December 13 to finalize the plan.
