MAY SOCIAL COMMITTEE MINUTES

May 1, 2001

 Present:  Pam Mitchell, Karen Davis, Lynn Stewart, and Sarah Erwin

 During the month of April a gift certificate to Babies’R Us was given to Heidi Crouse to celebrate the birth of her daughter; an Office Staff Appreciation Luncheon was provided by Stanley J’s; a donation to Hospice of the Bluegrass was given in memory of Betty Ockerman’s father; and retirement gifts were purchased from Things Remembered in Fayette Mall.

 The Retirement Dinner will be Thursday, May 10^th at UK Hilary Boone Faculty Club from 5:30 – 7:30 P.M.  Cocktail hour (cash bar) will be from 5:30 – 6:30 P.M.  Dinner will be served at 6:30 P.M.  Members of this committee will contact retired staff to see if they would like to attend.  Staff wishing to attend will give Sarah Erwin their checks for the dinner ($20 per person) by Monday, May 7^th.  Pam Mitchell will be in charge of making the final arrangements with the Faculty Club.

 Goals for next year were discussed.  We want to shoot for 100% participation from our staff.  Committee guidelines also need to be reviewed and amended where needed.
