Committee Name:  Public Relations

Purpose: 

1.        Publicize school activities in the community;

2.        Recognize achievement by staff and students within the school and community;

3.        Utilize resources such as email, PTA Newsletter, web site, neighborhood association newsletters, local government, newspaper, and television;

4.        Develop activities at the school that involve community resources.

Members Present:  Kelly Gunn, Bonnie Mooney, Donna Lansden, Paul Englebrecht and Brenda Burton

Agenda:  We discussed the upcoming events that need to be in the next newsletter, and also events that may need more media attention than just our in-school paper.

Discussion on each item: The items that we listed are as follows:  5^th grade recognition, Dare graduation, Orchestra/Band Concert, Stonewall Chorus Musical, Field Days, Last day of school, Jessie Clark Orchestra Concert, Econ Bowl for 4^th grade, and the kindergarten event, Read for the Roses.

Action taken on each item:  All of these events will be sent to Becky Ferraro to be considered for the newsletter, with further action to be taken on those that need more press.
