Purpose: 

1.        Publicize school activities in the community;

2.        Recognize achievement by staff and students within the school and community;

3.        Utilize resources such as email, PTA Newsletter, web site, neighborhood association newsletters, local government, newspaper, and television;

4.        Develop activities at the school that involve community resources.

• Updates on any new information to be sent to community/parents
• Updates on current items

Discussion on each item: We discussed information we have been gathering about the in-school performances and that has been sent to the Newsletter.  Bonnie discussed the letter she is working on about the Young Author’s program, for publication in the newsletter.  We discussed the confusion about the meeting day and the effect it had on attendance. 

Action taken on each item:  We will proceed with sending the articles in for publication in the Newsletter.  We will continue to explore other topics that may be of interest to the parents and community.
