Committee Name:  Public Relations

Purpose: 

1.        Publicize school activities in the community;

2.        Recognize achievement by staff and students within the school and community;

3.        Utilize resources such as email, PTA Newsletter, web site, neighborhood association newsletters, local government, newspaper, and television;

4.        Develop activities at the school that involve community resources.

Agenda:

1) To introduce our parent (P.T.A. and Stonewall Neighborhood) representatives;

     Becky Ferrero - P.T.A. representative.

2) Discuss ways in which we can effectively communicate with the community.

Discussion on each item:

1)       Discussion on how we (as a committee) can effectively get information to external/internal 

        resources in a timely manner. 

Action taken on each item:

1)       We will periodically send e-mail to the staff requesting an update on special recognitions, and upcoming school and or community events, etc…

2)       Becky has shared her e-mail address with us. We as a committee will gather information/announcements and forward them to her. Becky will see that the information is turned in prior to the newsletter deadline.

3)       Becky will make contacts with selected external resources and notify them of activities going

        on within our school.

4)       We as a committee will gather internal announcements, recognitions, etc… and forward 

        them to Becky.
