Professional Development Committee Minutes
9/2/03

Members Present: Gary Justice, Diana Barnes, Dana Hougland, Teresa Moore, Sandy Veinot, Bonnie Mooney, and Sarah Erwin

1.The SBDM Council and the PD Committee must now approve all PD requests before requests are forwarded to Central Office. Requests must reach the PD office before the Board Agenda deadline (see the PD board across from mailboxes for deadline dates).

When making a submission, teachers need to allow time for requests to be approved by the PD committee, the SBDM Council, the PD office, and the FCPS Board.

2. Some incomplete PD requests have been submitted. If a request is incomplete, it will be returned for completion before any consideration is given (which may result in missing a deadline).

3. The following PD requests have been approved by the committee and the SBDM Council and will be forwarded to FCPS for the Board approval:

Janie Griggs
Debbie Moore
Charlie Hardy
Tanya Butler

 4.  PD funds are very limited this year! 

5. Nov. 3 inservice – ½ day will be a presentation by Bev Dean for math. The PD committee will request that ‘developing open responses in the area of math’ be the focus area.
