PD Committee Meeting Notes
April 3, 2001
Members present; C. Hardy, T. Moore, L. Cress, G. Justice, B. Mooney

- $2,700.00 ( almost $2,800.00) was sent in for stipends for this year.

- No responses of interest on Reading Connections PD, $2,500.00 plus, too expensive.

- CHAMPS- the feeling seems to be that this would not be needed here at Stonewall.

- ACE Reading PD- geared toward 3rd to 5th grade teachers.

- KET Video series- many topics are available. We will hold a video day for PD time.

Teachers can choose areas of interest, then go to that particular video and view it. (3 hours)

- Kindergarten Math institute- more information is forthcoming on this.

- Grouping with team mates still counts as PD time, not team planning, but sharing of ideas and new concepts, etc.

- Social Studies work shop for the newly adopted series will be worth 3 hours.

- 2nd Steps- character ed. PD, (grades 3-5), will be worth 3 hours of credit.

- Accelarated Reading with Stacey Musgrave, details forthcoming.

- PET Project for entire school led by Amy. (still considering this)

- Cathy Brandt, Web Based Technology PD's will be available for next year, as well.

- November 6th is the first PD day on the calendar for this coming school year.
