Curriculum Meeting Minutes

Members: C. Turner, J. Duncan, J. O’Hara, S. Mettille, D. Moore, E. Haggard 

Ms. Mettille reported no new ESL business at this time.

Reminders from Ms. Mettille:

·          There are no exemptions from testing this year for ESL students.  All current 4th grade ESL students must produce a portfolio also. 

·           LAS and Pre-Las testing for reclassification open window dates will be March 1-19 this year.  The March ESL Teachers District Meeting will be in the Stonewall Library as per Stonewall Calendar.

Other committee members reported that no new curriculum issues had been brought to their attention at this time.

Side notes/discussions:

·          Open response questions emphasizing higher thinking skills need to continue to be incorporated in all curriculum areas as much as possible.

·          Be sure to save open responses for all curriculum areas for the end of the year folders.

·          Portfolios for all grade levels should be well under way.

Committee members agreed to have a special meeting if the need arises. Otherwise our next meeting will be in March.
