Curriculum Meeting Minutes
August 22, 2003

Present:  Regina Adams, Janice Duncan, Eileen Haggard, Shayla Mettille, Debbie Moore, Cynthia Turner

JUMP START—

·         First and second grade teachers will be giving Regina lists of students needing Jump Start.

·         To let students get acclimated to school, names will not be collected for two weeks.

·         Jump Start will begin on September 8.

·         Teachers for Jump Start were decided:

                                Nancy Watson and Sarah Erwin will teacher first grade.

                                Sue Clark and Leslie Leblanc will teach second grade.

·         After the determination of the students needing help, letters will be sent home to the families by Regina.

·         At this time, ESL students will not be accepted.

  ESS BUDGET—

·         Jump Start will use $1,200 of the old budget and $1,300 of the new budget.

·         We have $15,442.19 for this school year.  (This number is a little down from last year.)

·         A copy of the last year’s budget was given to the members of the Curriculum Committee.  The Committee is to will talk to staff as to how to use this year’s money.

·         In the past, the focus was on reading and math.

FYI—

·         ESS Committee is a subcommittee of the Curriculum Committee.

Next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 9, 2003.
