Curriculum Committee
January 7, 2003

Members Present: Kim Sponcil, Becky Horine, Eileen Haggard, Sue Clark, Shayla Mettille, Stacie Musgrave

* Mr. McCaw presented the following to the committee:

- He suggested delaying Math textbook adoption until next year. Texas is adopting next year and most likely the textbook companies will have new products then.

- He suggested a new report card for primary and intermediate (excluding Kindergarten). He also presented a draft for the committee to look at, discuss, and revise as needed.

* The committee agreed that Math textbook adoption should be delayed until next year.

*The committee agreed that a new report card is needed. The major changes that need to take place on the report card were then discussed. Economics needs to be put under social studies and the 5th grade portfolio section needs to be removed. The need for some type of progress report to be sent home from Quest was also discussed. The committee discussed several other changes that could be made and then decided to take the draft to the next grade level meetings to get suggestions and feedback from all the teachers. These suggestions will be brought back to the next Curriculum Committee meeting and another rough draft will be made to submit at a faculty meeting.
