Committee Name:  Climate, Equity, and Guidance

Purpose: 

  1. Work to provide a positive environment for students, staff, and parent;
  2. Respond to equity issues as they arise at school and in the FCPS;
  3. Promote a guidance program that includes prevention, interventions as needed, and support for students, parents, and teachers.

Agenda: Develop parent climate survey

Discussion on each item: See attached survey that was developed using A Guide to Schoolwide Activities That Build Community: At Home In Our Schools by Development Studies Center .  The survey will be presented to Mr. McCaw who will present it to the SBDM council.  If approved, the survey will be sent home to parents on February 28, 2005 to be completed and returned to school by March 2, 2005.  Once collected, the data will be compiled by the grade levels (including comments) and the grade levels will offer suggestions on how the survey findings will be used.  The grade levels will send their data to the Climate/Equity committee and the committee will prepare the data to be presented to SBCM council.

Action taken on each item:  Survey sent to Mr. McCaw for approval.
