Submitted by: Stacie Musgrave

Members Present: Stacie Musgrave, Shayla Mettille, Janet Fisher, Janice Duncan, Diana Barnes

Agenda:

  1. Discuss policies to made by our committee.
  2. Review survey questions to be sent to the staff.

Discussion on each item:

1.        Read about the two policies we will be writing for the council.  Need clarification from Velva Reed, ESS specialist, on which students may receive services from ESS.  Are all students eligible or only students that do not receive other “special services” during the school day?  (Are students with IEPs and 504’s included?  Does this include children in speech?  Are ESL students included?)  Janice Duncan will call Ms. Reed for further information.  The committee will continue work on this policy next month.

2.        Discussed the Climate/Equity survey questions to be sent out to the staff this month.

Action taken on each item:

Survey was approved by committee and will be sent out to the staff as follows:

2.             What do you see as strengths with equity at Stonewall?

3.             What are your concerns about climate at Stonewall?

4.             What do you see as strengths with climate at Stonewall?

5.             What do you see as a charge for the Climate/Equity Committee this year?

Please return this completed survey to Duncan or Barnes’ mailboxes by Friday, October 15.  Thanks so much for taking the time to do this!

(Note to Council:  I sent an email to this committee telling them that the Council wanted to see the survey before it was sent out.    For some “techno” reason, the message did not get to the committee, so this survey did go out.)
