Climate, Equity, and Guidance Committee 

Members present:  R. Adams, D. Barnes, B. Burton, T. Butler, J. O’Hara, J. Whitaker
Date:  Tuesday, August 22, 2000
Time:  2:30-3:30 p.m.

    Regina Adams listed details of required guidance topics, such as harassment.  Suggestions were taken from all members for other topics in classroom guidance.  The topics include:

·        Study skills

·        Use of assignment books

·        Organizational skills

·        Character education

·        Social skills (which includes follow-up activities by teachers)

·        Small group counseling

    She will be attending grade level meetings to schedule upcoming guidance lessons.

    Mrs. Adams is also working on ways to increase parental involvement.

    Juanita Whitaker and Tanya Butler are the self-appointed secretaries for the Climate, Equity, and Guidance Committee.  All other official positions have not been determined at this time.

    Our next meeting will be Tuesday, October 3, 2000.
